We are a nonprofit organization located in Calgary, AB. The Coach Kalix Foundation helps Calgary and Area kids play minor sports with financial assistance. Hockey, Basketball, Soccer, Lacrosse, etc. The foundation wants kids to play!
Kalix's Story
Kalix was born November 1, 2000, in Calgary, AB where he lived most of his life. He was the pride and joy of his Mom - Tracy Henderson and Dad - John Langenau.
Kalix loved sports, especially hockey and became a one of a kind goalie. He also loved coaching and helping kids on and off the ice. From hockey to soccer to mini sticks, nothing made him happier than coaching kids of all ages, especially his brothers.
His ultimate dream was to be his younger brother's manager if he ever made it to the NHL. While helping one brother try to fulfill his goals, he was an assistant coach to his other two brother's team and coached various sports in Airdrie, AB.
On February 15, 2020, Kalix was tragically taken from this world, devastating his family and friends.
To honor Kalix, we have created the Coach Kalix Foundation in his memory. By helping youth get into minor sports without worrying about the financial burden associated with registration fees and equipment, we are keeping Kalix's Legacy alive!
